Hello! It’s always exciting to go somewhere completely new for the first time for whatever reason. And my trip to Chicago over Thanksgiving weekend was exactly that. Getting to explore this amazing city with friends and going to see my favorite band is always an added treat. Chicago is known for a rich history of industry, architecture, ingenuity, grit, and some beautiful places indeed. A lot of the trip was spent downtown seeing some of the usual tourist stuff, but most as always was walking around with my camera in awe of something brand new that I had seen in photos forever.
These are some photos I completely forgot about until a few days ago, I hadn’t gotten to editing them, but they were all taken within a few hours of each other. Starting in Addison where Wrigley Field is all the way south towards downtown, and then ending at Lake Shore Drive and one of the many urban beaches in Chicago at Lake Michigan. So many differences in such a short distance apart from each place, and all on the same train line in the city.
Growing up at the beach, it’s so different to see a beach literally in the middle of a city. Wedged between one of the largest lakes in the country and skyscrapers in the background. Truly a cool juxtaposition of nature and industry between each other. This day was very cold in particular, but could have much but colder on a November afternoon just before sunset in the “Windy City”. Please take a look and transform yourself back to Chicago from each different and beautiful part of their landscape.
